Meet Joey Jubayr

About Me

Hi! I'm Joey! I'm a musician and creative based in Brooklyn, New York. My philosophy is that the best art is human-centered, and the more involved we are as artists, the better we can connect with our audiences. As a writer and a music director, this means I enjoy finding ways to incorporate musicians into live theater, giving focus to the amazing orchestras that dedicate their time to bringing shows to life. As a musician and an actor, this means I show up prepared, and I show up for my peers.

Conducting is my one true love, and I have worked at theaters across New York and Boston as a music director, including Narrows Community Theater's Brigadoon, Olivia Barrón's Autobiography of Red, and Boston University's Little Shop of Horrors. I am also an avid reed doubler, having played productions of The Drowsy Chaperone starring Laverne Cox at Carnegie Hall with Breaking the Binary Theater, as well as Merrily We Roll Along and Pippin with Heights Players,  and Seussical, and 42nd Street with Narrows Community Theater. Additionally, I am available for recording, and can be heard on Another Garden by Niké Vopalecká, on Asher Schectman and Benji Hafetz-Price's Goodbye Nile, and in the short films Dream Factory by Arushi Nigam and In This House by Tyler R. Jenkins.

Check out my resume for a full list of my creative works! Let's make music together!
