Joey Jubayr is a music director, reed doubler, and orchestrator located in Brooklyn, New York. A passionate conductor, Joey has music directed and stick conducted for numerous productions, including Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors with Boston University on Broadway, as well as Olivia Barrón's Autobiography of Red, Julianne Wick-Davis' The Willard Suitcases, and Neil Klein's Playing Dead.
Joey is also an avid performer and has played in numerous pits, including for Narrows Community Theater's production of Seussical, Boston University on Broadway's productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and Anastasia, and Berklee's annual musical theater writing competition Curtain Up! Joey can also be heard in the short films Dream Factory by Aarushi Nigam, and In This House by Tyler R. Jenkins.
Joey's philosophy is that the best way to elevate the musical theater experience is to involve the musicians and crew as deeply in the creative process as possible, whether through immersive musical experiences, actor/musicians, or incorporating the pit into the set work of a show.
Aside from pit, Joey is also a composer, orchestrator, and arranger. Currently in the process of writing their debut musical Mary and the Heretics, Joey has also orchestrated Olivia Barrón's Autobiography of Red, Neil Klein's Playing Dead, and Julianne Wick Davis' song cycle The Willard Suitcases.
